Columns
The function of columns is to shoulder the weight of the whole roof.
Columns in different positions have different names.
（1） Eave column: found on the outside of buildings

（2） Hypostyle column: found on the inside of the buildings

（3） Corner column: found at corners attaching walls together

At the bottom found the column base which serves the function of protecting the column from moisture. The fine
designs are in various shapes. The older the buildings, the simpler the design. Complexity and variations with delicate
carvings were shown since the middle of the QIng Dynasty.
