Sin Shut Study Hall,
San Uk
|
Sin
Shut Study Hall was built in 1804 to commemorate and worship
the 19th generation
of the Tang clan, Tang Wan-kai. The study hall has
a dual function:
on one hand, it serves as an ancestral hall to worship
the Tang ancestors;
on the other hand, it is used for educating their next
generation. It
still served as a study hall until 1938. It transformed into
a kindergarten
after the war. Sin Shut Study Hall is no longer used as
a study hall
but a banquet venue occasionally. Since the study hall is not
open to the public,
we can only peek inside through the gaps of the doors. |
