Why did Mr. Au Yeung join the paper offerings industry.

In 1949, Mr. Au Yeung fled to Hong Kong from mainland China because of the Chinese civil war. His friends introduced him to work in a place called ‘Kam Yuk Lau’. Mr. Au Yeung thought it was a restaurant, but it turned out to be a paper offerings shop. Since it was not easy to find a job in those days, Mr. Au Yeung accepted the job and became an apprentice. After three years as an apprentice, Mr. Au Yeung started his own shop. His shop is now run by his family. He has now been working in this paper offerings industry for almost half a century.
