In order to enhance our understanding of the paper offerings industry in Hong Kong, we have interviewed Ah Sing, who works in a traditional paper offerings shop, which provides hand-made paper offerings to customers.

Ah Sing has been working in the paper offerings industry for 18 years. He started working in this industry in the 1990s. Coming from a poor family, Mr. Sing had no choice but to reluctantly accept this low-paid job. Originally, he was an apprentice in the district of Yau Ma Tei, learning how to produce the paper offerings. Nowadays, however, he is not making the paper offerings full-time. Besides making paper offerings, he also has to work as a porter.
