The History of Paper Offerings

Zhou Dynasty (1066 –256 B.C.)：Paper offerings were used for decorations during festivals.

Han Dynasty (202 B.C.- 220 A.D.) ：pottery appeared to replace human sacrifices, but paper offerings were not used.

Song Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.) : Paper offerings appeared and gradually replaced pottery.
