Sadly, most Dai Pai Dongs are gone, either moved indoors or simply closed off. Following the growing population in HK and as a means of hygienic control, all the 'stalls' had to be removed and business came to an end in early 1980s. There are still some indoors Dai Pai Dongs in old housing estates, at Temple Street (near Yau Ma Tei MTR Station) and Elgin Street in Central. Though the places are different, the food still remains attractive. Do not hesitate and try some!
