The 1970s
There were more advertisements which advertised funeral homes. The number of funeral homes also increased to 20. Categories like ‘Coffin, Shroud and Musical Band’ and ‘Funeral Procession Requisites) disappeared. This means that all services related with funerals were now provided by funeral homes.

In the 1970s, the Urban Services Department was responsible for the operation of cemeteries and crematoria. Service was provided 24 hours a day. There were funeral depots provided. Some hospitals would also provide low-cost funeral services.
