The History of Hong Kong Funeral Rites
1930' s
Since 1930' s, Hong Kong first undertaker, the Hong Kong Funeral Home, has been in operation. But the people did not accept this new service instantly. The second funeral home, Kowloon Funeral Home, did not appear in Hong Kong until the 1950s. As the funeral homes gained popularity, the ‘yizhuang’ began to lose its importance and people no longer organized funerals at home.
